INVBILLING011 (BILLING_EXCLUDE_WAIVED_DAYS_FOR_TIER_CALCULATION)

In N4, you can guarantee/waiver any extracted billable event or any time-based event, STORAGE, REEFER, or LINE_STORAGE. Once a billable event is guaranteed, N4 updates the status of the event in the Chargeable Unit Events view (on page 1) as GUARANTEED. This ensures that the event cannot be guaranteed a second time. However, the time-based events, STORAGE, REEFER, or LINE_STORAGE can be guaranteed/waived multiple times. Therefore, when you record a guarantee/waiver for these events, N4 does not update the status of these events in the Chargeable Unit Events view.

In N4 Billing you can exclude the guaranteed/waived days when calculating the storage or reefer charges but still include them in the tier calculation.

Set INVBILLING011 to:

For example, consider a scenario where you pick up a container after five days out of which the first three days are guaranteed. If INVBILLING011 is set to true, N4 Billing generates a charge for only the last two days but when determining which tier to use to calculate the charge, it considers all five days. In this same scenario, if INVBILLING011 is set as false, N4 Billing generates a charge for all five days and also when determining which tier to use to calculate the charge, it considers all five days.

To enable N4 Billing to count the guaranteed/waived days for tier calculation, the guaranteed/waived days are passed to N4 Billing as calendar billable days with the Description as GUARANTEED/WAIVED. You can view the guaranteed/waived days for an invoice on the Messages tab (Operations Invoice Invoices view Invoice Inspector).

For REEFER charges, when you use the Storage Rule Type form (on page 1) to define the Power Rule, you must specify the Power Charge By as Day for this setting to be used. If the Power Charge By is set to any other value, N4 ignores this setting.
